Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
I definitely wrote more in terms of actual number of fics and word count, which is definitely more than what I wrote last year (like, 10x more). 2014 has been a very productive year in terms of writing.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January?
Mostly likely the influx of chinguline fic? I've turned from Suho Slave to Chinguline Crony. Participating in a lot of fests made this possible. Didn't think I'd be writing more porn this year, either, despite the #twentypornteen hashtag. (Lookin' at u, Dan) I think the biggest shock of the year was the huge word count? I never was a longfic writer prior to 2014 but, somehow, the change in writing style made it possible for me to achieve those big word counts.

What's your own favorite story of the year?
It's hard to pick, but Hurricanes brought us here is really, really special to me. It's basically all my BaekSoo feelings in a fic, haha! I love Unforced Errors, as well – it has two of my favorite things, namely BaekSoo and tennis. It's actually a project I've long been wanting to accomplish, and sooenaemoured fast-tracked the project into actualization.

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
Started writing more elaborate plots, sort of polished my porn writing "skillzzz", diversified in terms of POVs that I can write. If there's one thing I've learned this year, it's that you have to constantly try to do new things, write new topics or take different approaches. Sticking to a tried and tested method is good, yes, but it won't help you grow.

(And I'll forever be grateful to that anon who gave me crit on last year's feedback meme. Wouldn't have been able to develop this writing style without your help, dear anon. :) )

Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the new year? Write more, write faster, constantly improve. :)

From my past year of writing, what was…
My best story of this year: This is a tough pick only because I consider 'best' a combination of quality and having fun. I'd say it's any of these four – dare you to move, the shadow doubles series, Unforced Errors, and harbor.

My most popular story of this year: dare you to move, I think?

Most fun story to write: what if this storm ends?, possibly. The plot in itself was really, really cute, and UGH I LOVE BABIES!! Writing something that's lighter than my usual material was definitely a great experience. And I also love light a match […] to bits and pieces, omg. The scene in the last battle where Kyungsoo helps Baekhyun reach Pegasus by summoning pillars – that mental image haunted me for months and I'm glad chingux gave me an excuse to write superheroes AU. :)

Story with the single sexiest moment: Unforced Errors takes home the bacon for the voyeurism scene feat. Kyungsoo watching Baekhyun getting sucked off by a freshman. Also, ChanLay jerking each other off during the body swap in foul trouble and personal foul. Yeeeep. If we're going by 'intimate', though, it's got to be the scene where Jongdae fixes Joonmyun's clothes in You probably couldn't see through the lights.

Most "holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story: DEFINITELY personal foul, because of the part where Chanyeol asks Yixing to "fuck him" during the body swap.

Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: This one has to go to dare you to move. I've never really written Minseok before, and this fic just… opened my eyes to the way he sees things. It's refreshing, to say the least. I've definitely come to appreciate him more after writing that.

Hardest story to write: Leave the light on. The super duper muted emotions made it so hard to write since my style is so damn emotional. AUs as complex as that have always been a challenge for me. ;~~; You probably couldn't see through the lights was a challenge, too, because Jongdae is such a difficult character to write, but I had fun with both fics. :)

Biggest surprise: dare you to move, I suppose, because of the hugeass word count. I swear to God, I never saw that coming. (And then one heart is never enough alone happened. sobs.)

Most unintentionally telling story: harbor, definitely. Friendship fics are always 10x more emotional than relationship-focused ones. c:

Favorite Opening Lines / Introductions:
- Yixing doesn't call it a reunion. It's more of coming face-to-face with your fears or any resemblance of it. Lu Han emerges from the doors and steps inside the room with a quiet kind of confidence in his stride and Yixing resist the urge to stare. There's nothing wrong with it – he's seen this before, has woken up to it, slept to the nagging memory of it, played alongside it. He's spent years memorizing it, the same stretch of the body and the way Lu Han tilts his chin up, tilts his head just so. "It's my 'I'm not trying to be cocky but I'm just saying' look," Yixing remembers Lu Han saying before, after winning their last match against Anyang as seniors. They'd approached the net then, and Lu Han looked like some douchebag rubbing in defeat in the face of their opponents. So really, the light punch to the cheek after the handshake was called for. If back then Yixing was anything like the person he was now, he would've punched Lu Han square on the nose. No regrets. (the never-ending tie break)

- This isn't supposed to feel foreign to him – the squeaking and screeching of rubber shoes, the sound of balls bouncing off the court – but it does. Maybe it's because he's spent half his life playing on street courts that aren't as smooth as the ones here in Seoul, or maybe because he is miles away from home. He doesn't blame his father for getting reassigned to Korea – he never blames family; he blames circumstance. So he clings onto tennis as his last string of hope, a semblance of home. (advantage court)

- In the small window of opportunity between the entire office celebrating bagging the Agency of the Year award for the third straight year and Joonmyun getting drunk as fuck, Kyungsoo tenders his resignation. (what if this storm ends?)

- Kyungsoo is drunk. More like Kyungsoo is close to passing out on the sand and Baekhyun's having too much fun with his phone. Baekbeom has just given it back to him since Sooneung is already over. It's only fair – he'd snapped a few photos of Jongdae goofing off earlier, burying his face in sand then emerging with the worst scrunched face ever. Chanyeol's contribution to the growing photo collection was of him pressing a peace sign to his best sobered-up face while poking Jongdae's too pink cheeks. Kyungsoo had the least incriminating shots – bottle pressed to his cheek, then lips caught mid-laugh and mid-scowl as he squinted one eye in an attempt to not get any of the alcohol Chanyeol had 'accidentally' sloshed in his face in his eyes. Chanyeol had tentatively named that picture something obscene but Baekhyun quickly (gingerly) changed it back to IMG013.jpg (after Kyungsoo trapped him in a head lock). Then there's a selca with Baekhyun, red eyes and all. Another with the sand as the backdrop, their red cheeks pressed against each other. The last one's with Chanyeol and Jongdae biting their heads off. (harbor)

– The sound of the cheers is deafening. Jongdae isn't new to this — being in front of hundreds, thousands of people, the spotlight aimed straight at him, blinding and washing him out. He's been in the industry far too long for the feeling of the heat of the light prickling his skin to get to him, make him crack his neck and make the smile on his lips waver. He focuses his eyes on the camera in front of them, smiles — practiced, calculated, tight at the corners but relaxed enough to still win the hearts of many. He leans over to Taeyeon to whisper mostly just garbled syllables, and Taeyeon plays along, whispering in return. (you probably couldn't see through the lights (but you were staring straight at me))

Favorite Closing Lines:
- He turns on his heel, and Baekhyun's racket finds his as they make their rackets clash in the air, the soft sound of the contact making Kyungsoo smile. Opposite him, Baekhyun is grinning, his smile reaching his eyes. There's still the same old Baekhyun he played against back in 2003, the same Baekhyun he has trained with back in high school — Byun Baekhyun whose dreams he'd shared with when they played doubles, when they slipped back into singles, and met again on court to play alongside each other, two souls yearning completion.

Kyungsoo takes a step back from the baseline and tosses the ball in the air. He can hear Baekhyun's light laughter a few feet away.

He dreams with Baekhyun. (Unforced Errors)

– "We have class at ten," Baekhyun whispers when they part. He leans in a little to taste Kyungsoo some more, to nibble on Kyungsoo's lips and suck on them. "I checked your schedule and–"

"Shut up," Kyungsoo says, lips still pressed to Baekhyun's own. Baekhyun doesn't say anything, keeps his lips between Kyungsoo's, stays there long enough for him to feel the grin that stretches across Kyungsoo's mouth. It's infectious. It's a force too strong to fight, and he's weak. So he lets the wave of Kyungsoo's warmth wash over him and pull at the corners of his lips, carry him to shore and pin him down to the sand. He's dropping anchor right here, making port in the warm cocoon of Kyungsoo's embrace.

They are the next big wave. They are unstoppable.

They're home. (harbor)

– "I figured I could use the change," Kyungsoo admits. Chanyeol cocks an eyebrow at him, but his cheeks flush in acknowledgement. He leans back in for a kiss and thinks, he could use one last bad habit to get him through the tides of change. So he kisses Chanyeol again, and again, and again, remorseless. Fearless. (say anything (but say what you mean))

Favorite 5 Line(s) from Anywhere:
- Say there are three balls — one is Chanyeol, the other is Jongdae, and the last one is Kyungsoo — and Baekhyun has to pick, Baekhyun won't allude to his choice. It will all be in his head. Kyungsoo won't even be able to tell if he even stands a chance. (Unforced Errors)
- Nobody wins, and he's the only one who loses. Joonmyun's the unassuming prize at the end of the game. (You probably couldn't see through the lights)
- […] because that's what people do, don't they, when they're indebted to someone? Pay them back? With food or a touch or any form of human contact, arms around the waist and lips on lips, warm and wet? (Bound for Light)
- He's always half of something — half fearless, half uncertain; halfway through working on some new tracks for the repackage album and halfway through working on some new material for a potential hit single; half of who he is and who he should be — pure, unadulterated Do Kyungsoo, not EXO's Kyungsoo with a touch of Byun Baekhyun on the side. (Hurricanes brought us here)
- Baekhyun leaves stains on Kyungsoo's skin and gets away with it, completely remorseless. And Kyungsoo drinks everything up, each and every piece of Baekhyun that he leaves whenever he arrives at the daycare with Soohyun, forgets to pick up when he returns to take Soohyun away (and maybe a part of Kyungsoo, as well). (what if this storm ends?)
- He knows too much about Baekhyun because of Soohyun, yet knows too little about him because he's Byun Baekhyun, and Byun Baekhyun doesn't divulge information easily. He lures people into his trap with an innocent smile and sweet words, and he'll watch as they struggle with its kinks to see if they'll hang around long enough to be able to undo the knots, or leave at the first sign of a challenge. If Baekhyun was a commercial, he'd be the comical kind, completely unassuming and laughable at first glance, but you'd stop to think and go back to him, studying every part of his body, the twist of the mouth and the quirk of the eyebrow, until you finally get the message. Byun Baekhyun is never without surprises, and Kyungsoo has finally come to love surprises. He might even consider rebranding himself as one. (what if this storm ends?)
- Nothing makes sense but their bodies align, finding a perfect fit, and Lu Han is kissing him. Lu Han is kissing him and licking at the seam of his lips, teasing his mouth open, sucking at the corners, licking the back of his teeth. Lu Han is kissing him like nothing and no one outside of this matters. And Lu Han is whispering his name like a prayer, holding onto him like a lifeline, and he's kissing him. And he kisses Lu Han back. (advantage court)
